Our Commitment

MAKE PEOPLE AND BUSINESSES GROW

BHF BANK STIFTUNG

The most important pillar of our corporate citizenship activities is the non-profit BHF BANK Stiftung Foundation. The foundation was set up in 1999 and supports initiatives that generate forward-thinking and groundbreaking ideas for life in German society. The BHF-BANK Foundation concentrates on two areas: social and scientific projects with a socio-political background, and the contemporary arts and upcoming artists. It is an operating foundation and in many cases it thus also provides the ideas and topics for new projects. It fosters projects that go beyond the beaten path in order to draw on unconventional ideas to address old and new topics. The work of the foundation is based on the conviction that trying out new things and exploring our creative potential is vital for life in our society.

Objectives:

  • Support initiatives that contribute to the development of society
  • Promote new ways of thinking to respond to social problems

Areas of commitment

Social projects based on cooperation with partners on the ground

  • Familienstart - The overall aim of the social projects of the BHF-BANK Foundation is to support the education and development of children and adolescents. “Familienstart” supports young single mothers in forging a successful parent-child bond and in seeking work.

  • Boxcamp Gallus - Approximately 120 youths from more than 30 nations train daily at Boxcamp, near the Galluswarte in Frankfurt, in an area of the city that is considered socially troubled.

Scientific projects with social impact

  • Frankfurter Forum für Interdisziplinäre Alternswissenschaften(FFIA) (Frankfurt Forum for Interdisciplinary Ageing Research) - This project focuses on shaping the living conditions of elderly people.

Promotion of contemporary art

  • Frankfurter Positionen: In cooperation with prominent cultural institutions, the biannual interdisciplinary festival presents original new works by international artists on current socio-political topics.

  • unart : This competition gives young people the opportunity to perform projects dealing with topics drawn from their own living environments on the stages of four major German theatres.
