ODDO BHF Acting for tomorrow: an endowment fund to support research and manage emergencies

ODDO BHF1 Minute

The endowment fund ODDO BHF Acting for tomorrow was created in 2012 in order to structure ODDO BHF social actions and engage the Group's employees in two major issues:

  • mobilisation during emergency situations (natural, ecological and humanitarian disasters, etc.)
  • support for medical research over the long term

Christophe Roux
Account Manager for Corporate and Markets and Endowment Fund Coordinator

"This approach is part of the Group's DNA: as an expert in the financial markets, ODDO BHF keeps pace with new factors which influence market behaviours but also invest in long term research."

TWO KEY PARTNERSHIPS

  • Support for the Alzheimer Research Foundation
ODDO BHF has been contributing for 14 years to the organisation of the annual gala, the profits from which are passed on to the Foundation.
  • Partnership with Médecins Sans Frontières [Doctors without borders] (MSF) since 2014
In-house calls for donations, 100% subscribed, enable the ODDO BHF Group to react quickly to crisis situations anywhere in the world. In 2017, the Group supported MSF campaign in Syria as well as the pediatric program in Koutiala (Mali) in the context of a malaria and malnutrition peak.

The moment of truth for public debt

Economic crises leave a legacy of high public debt. Expansion phases should be used as an opportunity by governments to reduce their debt and rebuild some headroom in their public finances. This is easier said than done. Let’s look at what happened after the last two major crises.

The end of the American dream? Market Outlook 4/13/2024

The end of the American dream?

We must confess that we have a strategic "bias" in favor of the US market. The past 15 years proves us quite right. Since the end of the 2007-2008 Financial Crisis, Europe has outperformed for only 27 months, or just over 2 years. This structural outperformance of the US vs. Europe is mainly explained by a more robust EPS dynamic in the US.
