International Banking World Tour in Vietnam: Seminar on longterm export finance

ODDO BHF1 Minute

A seminar on structured export finance was held on 21 and 22 October 2019 in Vietnam. For 26 years now our Group has been represented in Vietnam and has nurtured many local relationships with Vietnamese banks and companies.

More than 50 people attended the seminar. In addition to a presentation by our export credit insurance specialist Agnes Möglich, the seminar included a guest contribution by Stefan Pfingsttag, representative of Ferrostaal Equipment Solutions. He outlined the concept of ECA financing through the use case of the Hamburg based trading company.

However, the seminar offered more than the exchange of knowledge and also allowed the participants to expand their network.

After the previous stops in Belarus, Egypt, Nigeria, Uzbekistan and now Vietnam, the International Banking World Tour will hold its next seminar in Ivory Coast at the end of the year.

The moment of truth for public debt Economic Perspective 4/18/2024

The moment of truth for public debt

Economic crises leave a legacy of high public debt. Expansion phases should be used as an opportunity by governments to reduce their debt and rebuild some headroom in their public finances. This is easier said than done. Let’s look at what happened after the last two major crises.

The end of the American dream? Market Outlook 4/13/2024

The end of the American dream?

We must confess that we have a strategic "bias" in favor of the US market. The past 15 years proves us quite right. Since the end of the 2007-2008 Financial Crisis, Europe has outperformed for only 27 months, or just over 2 years. This structural outperformance of the US vs. Europe is mainly explained by a more robust EPS dynamic in the US.
